Bringing the brand to life through stories

In 2020, I worked with The Office Group (TOG) as a creative consultant to devise a content strategy and multimedia content hub to position the workspace company as thought leaders in the sector and strengthen audience engagement.

When I started my research, I was struck by the variety of companies that used TOG's workspaces. There were so many stories to tell, from charities right through to global corporations. And the world of work itself was being turned upside by the COVID-19 pandemic.

I spoke to as many members as possible, conducted stakeholder interviews with TOG's key people, and began to form a plan – a content hub called Stories, which celebrated brave ideas, supported the community with practical advice, and championed expert voices within the business.

I designed the content pillars to support TOG's brand messaging, positioning and activations, and then created a content plan to roll out over a year. We launched with features, how-to guides, opinion pieces, photography and illustrations – and then it was to figure out the video element of Stories.

How we made this: United House was our first video in a series to celebrate the design stories behind each of the buildings in TOG’s portfolio. It set the visual tone for the video content to come, and I produced and directed this video in collaboration with Nougie Film.

I trained up a colleague to take over when I went on maternity leave, and I continue to write features, and produce and direct videos for Stories. Favourites include a discussion for London Design Festival 2020 about the future of work, and the story ofa workspace in Shoreditch crafted from timber.
